13 Roadblocks to Relationship Happiness: 12. The Dominant Woman: This may not sound progressive, but I have yet to see it work where the woman is dominant in every area. This is not to say a relationship cannot be successful with the woman being the leader in a particular area (at home OR breadwinner OR socially) But if she dominates in every area, eventually he feels emasculated and she loses interest. When a man doesn't want to have sex with his attractive wife, it is either porn addiction or dominant woman. I have yet to see also the man as the primary caretaker and home with the children not working and the woman remains interested in him. Eventually, she wants someone that challenges her and that she admires. It is appealing at first because she likes to control and make decisions and he feels secure in her confidence (where he may lack some). But eventually, he doesn't feel good about himself (especially if she tends to be critical) and she is bored. You can be independent and self sufficient without being dominant.
